Biography


    Dr. Leslie Reisner is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Los Angeles. Dr. Reisner received her bachelor of science degree in psychology from Cornell University, her master of science degree in experimental psychology from Villanova University and both her master of arts degree and doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Hofstra University. She received her clinical training at the world famous Institute for Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) in New York City under Albert Ellis, Ph.D., the founder of REBT and the 1996 recipient of an award acknowledging his significant contribution to the field of psychology.

    Dr. Reisner is one of the West Coast's leading experts in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, a form of brief cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy that focuses on the present behaviors that can sabotage a fuller experience of life. Instead of focusing on what can't be changed (the past), Dr. Reisner teaches effective, present day strategies to managing stress, problem solving, relating to others and personal self-enhancement.

    Dr. Reisner has lectured and leads numerous workshops on stress management, overcoming eating and other addictive disorders, assertiveness training, improving relationships and many other topics at law firms, hospitals, universities, professional conventions and various professional groups. Dr. Reisner also teaches continuing education courses in stress management at U.C.L.A. and Phillip’s Graduate Institute.

    Dr. Reisner’s television appearances include invited guest expert on stress and eating disorders on the local Channel 2 News, the LEEZA Show and the Home and Family Show. Additional media contributions include segments on stress management and weight control on K-EARTH radio and in the Los Angeles Daily News newspaper.
