Treatment - General Medical / Other Psychiatric Condition

Choice or treatment when depression has been identified as a result of a general medical condition or other psychiatric condition.
Optimize treatment for the underlying medical or psychiatric condition, then reassess the person’s condition.
Treat the major depression as an independent disorder if still present.
In some cases the depression needs to be treated simultaneously with the concomitant condition.
Cost varies depending on the medical condition and its consequences, sometimes, patients will need in home help, board and care setting, assisting devices, in-home nursing, medications that may or may not be covered by insurance or Medicare.
There are resources out there to help so enlist the help of family or community agency, social worker, or private case manager.
